Message	it in person first? I wouldn't give the deposit back if I were you, it's his fault not yours. As far as the e-mails that you got where he started to back out, that only makes this guy look like more of a clown. He obviously never intended on buying the car if he knew what all was wrong with it from the start, I think he was just looking for an excuse to back out.
